Where you will be

Balatonszárszó is located on southern shore of the Balaton lake, in Somogy county, some 128 km (80 miles) south west from the city of Budapest. The region preserves the flavour of Hungarian Riviera with its rustic landscape, turquoise waters of lake Balaton, quaint little towns and villages surrounded by distant hills.

How to get to Hungary

Your travel destination is Budapest. All major airports in the US and Canada offer overseas connections to Budapest through Germany’s airports of Frankfurt and Munich.

Pick-up and drop-off days

The Field School provides transportation from Budapest to Balatonszárszó and back during the days of arrival and departure.

Session 1:

Tuesday, June 30 pick-up
Tuesday, July 21 drop-off

Session 2:

Wednesday, July 22 pick-up
Wednesday, August 12 drop-off

Room and Board

Field School students stay in a local hostel. The building provides sleeping rooms, a kitchen, bathroom/showers & toilet facilities, laboratory/lecture room and a swimming pool. Food (3 meals a day) is prepared according to traditional Hungarian culinary recipes and served in the hostel.
